If you are a skater, or a snowborder, or a fuckin’ poser like I am and you live in Italy, probably you may have some problems in finding clothes, band merchandise and shits like these.
Honestly, I have to say that there are a lot of great shops near the place I live and I usually buy there all my stuffs, but sometimes finding what I’m looking for gets quite difficult and so I have to resort to the web.
Surfing the net I hit on www.skateamerica.com.
“Welcome to the #1 Skateboard Mailorder Dealer in the world“.
Wow, I thought, heaven is a place on web!
It was September the first.
I immediatelly asked my friends and my girlfriend if someone would like to order something with me, in order to divide the shipping bill.
Ambra chose a pair of sandals, a belt and a pair of gloves.
I chose a Blink 182 old style t-shirt. I know, Blink are on hiatus since 2005 and the t-shirt I like is a 1999 item or even older, but ehi, skateamerica is the #1 Skateboard Mailorder Dealer and they make impossible to become possible. In fact the t-shirt is available and ready to ship immediately.
Can’t belive me? Look at this. I asked an M size.
Can you see it? Is STILL available and ready for shipping.
Ok, I’ll come back on this later.
Max, a friend of mine, chose a Billabong Shirt and an Atticus T-Shirt.
We made the order on September the sixth.
Skateamerica.com take the payment from my credit card on September the seventh.
Ok, they are fast ‘cause they are the #1 bla bla bla. I thought they will be fast in shipping too.
I was damn wrong.
After about a week, the customer service contacted me telling that the Atticus t-shirt was no more availabe. They told me I have to choose an alternative product.
If a product is no more available I think it has to be cancelled from the order, ‘cause I want that particular product and not another one, but Max is a nice guy and accepted to change the t-shirt.
This time he chose a Volcom one.
After another week, the customer service recalled me telling that even the Volcom t-shirt was no more available. As the last time, Max had to choose an alternative.
Max is a nice guy, but nice guys get sick too.
We asked to delete the item from the order.
We didn’t want any fucking alternative product.
A couple of days and more than a couple of e-mails later they finally cancelled the product from the order, but not from the bill.
Skateamerica wanted me to pay for a t-shirt I will never receive.
The #1 of Mailorder Motherfuckers started to irritate me.
I wrote them a mail telling that paying for a t-shirt that will never be shipped sounds like a fucking rip-off.
Probably I wrote them more than a single mail, but in the end they cancelled the item even from the bill.
This happened October the second.
Today, October the fifteenth, the order isn’t already been shipped.
Why?
Nice question.
I don’t know exactely what the hell is happening to my order, but if I check the Order Status on the skateamerica.com customer page I can see that the problem is my Blink 182 t-shirt.
Yes, the one I linked above.
The one marked as “ships immediately” on that goddam site.
Fuck you skateamerica.com.
I hope people read this post and make you the #1 Out Of Business Mailorder Service.
I dedicate you a line form Propagandhi, maybe you sell their merchandise too: stick the fucking order up your goddam ass, you sonofabitch!
I tried to write these lines in English so guys I’m talking to could understeand.
I know my English is terrible so I’ll accept any kind of hint to make this post get clearer.
